Introduction

ASDEPO is a humanitarian, Civil Society Organization founded in 2014 that works in all regions of Ethiopia. ASDEPO fulfills its mandate by providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. Under its mandate, the organization focuses on emergency humanitarian response, rehabilitation and post-conflict recovery.

Currently ASDEPO’s implementing nutrition project focused on Emergency Nutrition response through CMAM approach in some hard ship areas.

Job Description

The education Coordinator will provide innovative professional and operational support to enhance technical soundness of ASDEPO Education programs in line with the education strategic direction and in accordance with the national and international education programming standards and priorities. EIE Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading and coordinating conflict emergency response project level by ensuring, local government and others stakeholder’s collaboration at all level.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• EiE coordinator will be represent ASDEPO, at Regional, Zonal and woreda level and ensure a strong collaboration and working relationship with concerned government stakeholders and promote the positive organizational image.
• Actively participates in regional, zonal and woreda level emergency response clusters/coordination meeting with NGOs, UN agencies and government offices.
• Coordinate the overall planning and implementation of emergency education response activities.
• Provide technical support for field officers in planning and implementation of the program
• Facilitate a joint monitoring visit with key partners and organize post supervision discussion session discuss on areas of improvement.
• Ensure commodities and financial issues of the field office are communicated to HQ focal person.
• Maintain records of activities and produce regular reports including weekly update success and lesson learnt.
• Create a positive working environment with other ASDEPO sectors.

Job Requirement

• BA Degree in education and other education fields especially in educational planning and administration and other related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience implementing Education in Emergency (EiE) projects.
• Knowledge on creating child-friendly learning environments/spaces for children learning.
• Experience in working IDPs and Returnees context
• Background in teacher professional development, school leadership, supervision and governance, and school improvement planning
• Previous experience living in a hardship environment.
• Ability to communicate well in English as well as write clear and concise reports in English is a plus.
• Local knowledge in terms of its culture, economic and social trends is an asset
