We are pleased to announce the vacancy for Manager – Terminals Supply, Logistics and Inventory Planning within the CBU function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. 

Detailed Description 

Reporting to Head of Department – Terminals, the role holder co-ordinates the demand from our various sales channels and transfers them into a “buy” plan for device manufactures & distributors. The role requires strong leadership, excellent supply chain and logistics knowledge, combined with exceptional communication skills and eye for detail. The candidate will need to work cross functionally to ensure the right products are available at right place at the right time.

Further, the role has a responsibility to support the drive for smartphone adoption to Safaricom Ethiopia Network and candidate needs to have an in-depth understanding of the device ecosystem in Ethiopia including various methods that devices are imported into the market.

Job responsibilities 

  • Own the Sales & Order Planning process to ensure stock purchases, stock holding and shipments are in line with targets, budgets and wider business expectations
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly supply plans based on inputs from various sales channels
  • Participates and Lead S&OP review meetings, and inputs/adjusts the demand plan
  • Lead all the key meetings with suppliers, sales, marketing, including aged stock meeting, planning meetings, back-orders and allocation meetings
  • Own the financial targets and delivery towards them for working capital and stock levels, including aged stock, returned units, cover indexes, stock value, forecast accuracy, product availability, terminal cash flow plans.
  • Ensure all Purchase Orders are raised correctly and on time, and approve them consistently with terminals and company targets
  • Proactively push the GTM teams as well as the commercial team to solve issues and scout opportunity to increase volumes and manage stock levels
  • Guide and support the business on new smartphones and propositions selling in the market more compelling from the competitor
  • Short, medium & long term reports for stock holding, stock and financial KPIs & purchase plans
  • Supply Chain lead on a local & global level to ensure best practice, optimal system development, proactive reduction of stock days & working capital
  • Implement action plan to reduce stock days

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Relevant 3yr Degree or Diploma
  • Proven experience in leadership role within Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Sales (3-5yrs)
  • Excellent Leadership & Communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Work cross functionally in a fluid environment
  • A passion for providing excellence in customer service
  • Experience with S&OP processes, SCM related decision making role & supplier environment (planning and sales) 
  • Experience in sales (an advantage)
