We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Senior Integration Engineer within the Technology Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. 

Detailed Description 

Reporting to the EHOD, M-PESA Technology, He/She shall be responsible for developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations, services, internal and external APIs, file transfer, and any other integration pathway. The Engineer shall analyze and decompose integration requirements, design, develop, test, and document application application integrations. They will work closely with all stakeholders to ensure all integrations are designed and operational at all times

Job Responsibilities 

• Design, publish and maintain integration specifications for all Business Use-cases and develop and maintain all services used in application integrations.
• Design integration solutions and document the design in accordance with best practices to meet business requirements.
• Work with development teams to architect, design, build, and implement application integrations.
• Develop and maintain data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, ETL workflows and integration with system front end components.
• Work with teams maintaining existing legacy platforms that are non-comformant with the integation spec to achieve interoperability
• Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis.
• Support development on resolving system defects, acting as liaison, and developing solutions.
• Coordinate directly with business users and business analyst to best understand and analyze business specifications.
• Provide technical assistance to troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
• Develop the required integration solution artefacts that implementation teams and commercial stakeholders will use in the delivery of their respective scope
• Maintain all integration architecture and design artefacts to ensure that future solutions are consistent and re-used effectively.
• Clear communication of solution design, risks, quantified technical debt, technical roadmaps and alternative approaches
• Development of solutions that consider industry and domain best practices
• Development of solutions that align to Vodacom, Vodafone and Safaricom best practices and governance requirements (e.g. Security, ISO, SOX compliance)
• Development of clear solution architecture artefacts that aid delivery teams in understanding integration needs, functionality requirements, capacity plans and associated ongoing support.
• Troubleshooting existing/deployed integrations and providing technical support to the teams that rely on the integrations

Job Requirements

• Degree in Science, Computer Science, Engineering or Business related fields
• At least 3 years of broad technical background inclusive of databases, applications, Infrastructure, cloud, development , enterprise architecture, integration design, interoperability design, solutions architecture and system design experience
• At least 2 years experience as a developer, integrations engineer, systems engineer or delivery lead
• Understanding of working with 3rd party suppliers
• Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
• Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in an ambiguous environment
• Ability to guide/teach others in architecture principles
• Working knowledge of all Technical domains in telecoms including VAS, Charging, CRM and Digital Services
• Proven track record for interoperability delivery of large scale, complex projects delivering IT/Telco customer solutions; demonstrable leadership skills and organizational experience.
