About Veritas

Veritas is a multi-sector and Ethiopia-focused management consultancy firm. Veritas Consulting advises private, development, and private sector facing public institutions. We are a sector–agnostic consultancy, though the current thrust of our engagements is in renewable energies and agriculture.

Veritas currently seeks a long-term Senior Consultant to support these various work streams with a focus on investment facilitation.

About the position

The senior consultant will support Veritas’ engagements for private sector investment principally in Ethiopia, and occasionally more regionally focused.

At present, the thrust of the support will be streamlining commercial investment for mini-grids in Ethiopia and identifying parameters for carbon sector activity.

The right person will be able to engage regulatory authorities across the spectrum with a near-term emphasis on energy, distill investment legal parameters to the abroad spectrum of local and international stakeholders and support other consulting opportunities as warranted.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage with the project sponsors, project teams, and other stakeholders
  • Transaction support to clients including advising on foreign investment opportunities, requirements, and restrictions
  • Ensure proper documentation of key meetings and follow up on agreed tasks and deliverables
  • Preparation of project reports and presentation
  • Preparing project proposals, concept notes, and expression of interest
  • Organize stakeholder meetings, conferences and workshops that would include investors and public officials
  • Lead stakeholder coordination
  • Perform any other duties as required by the job function

Term of Engagement: One year

Job Requirements

  • Degree in business, finance, or legal (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in relevant areas
  • Experience in energy and / or agriculture sectors is strongly preferred
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
  • Clear, effective, and efficient communicator
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
  • Requires strong PowerPoint, Excel, and MS-Word capacities
  • Able to work both in a team and independently
  • Professional and constructive disposition, with a delivery oriented approach
