Purpose:

Quality control Inspectors are responsible for inspecting and testing the quality of stem and lamina products to ensure the quality meets with JTI standards in BCL operation process. Moreover, the quality control inspectors collect samples and prepare composite samples to dispatch to ETP1 for the purpose of stem and lamina determination, CAS1, sugar, and nicotine analysis, and also for the CAS3 test. 

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Sample collection

• Stem and lamina sample collection during the production process (before packing) for stem and lamina determination.
• Sample collection during the process (before packing) for CAS1 purpose.
• Sample collection during product packing process for moisture cross-checking measurement.
• Sample collection during product packing for sugar and nicotine analysis.
• Sample collection during product packing for CAS3 and CPA tests.

Samples preparation and dispatching

• Stem and lamina samples preparation, including recording and tagging and then dispatching to ETP1 for Particle Size and stem content determination.
• Composite sample preparation, recording, proper tagging, and dispatching samples to ETP1 for moisture cross-checking purposes.
• Composite sample preparation, recording, tagging, and dispatching samples to ETP1 for sugar and nicotine analysis.
• Composite sample preparation, recording, proper tagging, and dispatching samples to ETP1 for CAS1 purpose.
• Composite sample preparation, recording, tagging, and dispatching to ETP1 for CAS3 and CPA purposes.

Quality Equipment Operation

• Grinding samples for moisture, nicotine, and sugar analyses
• Moisture measurement using Halogen Analyzer, recording results, giving feedback to operators, and following up the stability of the process.
• Inspection of butt cut length size during the production process and give appropriate feedback to operator to sustain the quality process.
• Moisture test for lamina and long stem production during packing and provide feedback to operators.
• Temperature measurement of the lamina and stem products, after packing and recording the results.
• OBJ measurement
• Data preparation and report to ETP1 weekly.

Quality equipment handling and calibration

• Proper cleaning of quality measuring equipment (QME) and cover by polyethylene (PE) plastics for the safety of the equipment.
• Monitoring equipment accessories, operational manuals, guidelines, and work instructions in the proper place.
• Monitoring of laboratory equipment of handling, functioning, and reporting in case of any maintenance needed on failure.
• Calibration of equipment such as scale, microwave, thermometer laser, halogen analyzer, and others timely.
• Implementing calibration results during operational activities.

Other

• Perform various tasks and issues as they arise and upon by supervisor’s request

Job Requirements

Education:

• BSc Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering from a recognized university.

Work experience:

• 2- years experience in the manufacturing industry 

Knowledge:

• Language- Fluent writing and speaking English
• Computer Skills – Microsoft Office (Ms-word, Ms-excel, and PowerPoint)
