Position :   Project Officers- strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA II) Project

Reports to:   The SPA II Project manager and functionally to Local programme Coordinator 

Duty Base:  Ameya and Elfeta woreds’s (oromiya region), Guna Woreda (Ahara) and Semen Bench Woreda (South west region)

Required number:  Four (one for each woreda-project area)

Job Summary:

The position holder serves as as the SPAII program focal person at the program operation woreda/Local Rights Program (LRP) and ensures participatory planning, budgeting and reporting of the program activities and implements the plan with the required program quality standards.

Key accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of the program as per the results framework/logical framework/ at the grass roots level and compliance with AAE’s overall strategy and LRP program priority
  • Closely work with people living in poverty, young peoples, women and marginalized communities and other vulnerable groups through-out the cycle to ensure direct engagement, leadership and ownership of the program
  • Promote, facilitate and design systemic digital engagement of young people and provide capacity building to people living in poverty and their agencies
  • Advocate, facilitate and support safe space for young people in the LRPs mainly for young women
  • Responsible for deliberate inclusion and leadership of young women in the program
  • Ensures implementation of Human Rights Based Approach and intersectional feminist analysis approaches in the program delivery
  • Ensures timely planning, regular review and reporting, and follow up of actions with young peoples and other stakeholders’ engagement resulting to sustaining of results
  • Strive towards strengthening AAE’s position as strong and strategic partner on young peoples’, mainly young women’s leadership on climate justice at local level
  • Responsible for identifying needs and priorities of young people in the LRP and strengthen their collectives and movements
  • Ensure continuous evidence generation and documentation to feed in regional and national policy advocacy initiatives
  • Ensure quality program delivery through adherence and compliance to the organizational MEAL, & program logical framework
  • Digital galvanization of the program for ease of access to the young and link with national, and global movements and networks
  • Build communities resilience in timely assessing, analyzing and reporting of crises situations, and design and deliver responses as per AAE’s humanitarian signatures
  • Represent AAE in Key strategic meetings at LRP level and
  • Supports in the project budget management at the local level and facilitate payments as per the finance policy changes that will ensure equality and eradication of poverty.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in community development, social work, sociology, anthropology, gender and other social science fields Minimum of 4 years’ experience
  • Practical experience working with young people and marginalized communities and their agencies and movements
  • Proven digital engagement and social justice and human rights advocacy
  • Solid understanding and proven knowledge and skill on community mobilization and development, experience on  human rights, women’s rights, livelihoods and climate justice, feminist economy, and good governance projects
  • Practical experience of budget flows and financial management
