Job Description

Mission: Reports to: Logistics Manager

The AA Logistics Assistant's mission is to support management of vehicles, premises and logistics team necessary for the smooth-running of the program in compliance with Handicap International's internal regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility: Assist Management the program's vehicles and use and the management of any other means of transport in line with internal regulations and the security plan

Aim: To provide safe means of transport for the smooth running of activities

Benchmark: quality of vehicle fuel consumption monitoring; quality of the management of vehicles and other means of transport; quality of maintenance; efficiency of the user schedules; quality of fuel supply monitoring, user satisfaction

 Responsibility: Manages general services (offices, expatriate staff accommodation and storage facilities) and daily use of equipment

Aim: To provide the teams with comfortable living premises and preventing risk

Benchmarks: security of the premises; quality of the search for premises; quality of the management of premises

 Responsibility: Manages Stock

Aim: To be able to access, whenever required, the quantity of products needed to conduct project activities

Benchmarks: stock management procedures is strictly applied

Responsibility: Support management of technical equipment

Aim: To provide sufficient means for the smooth-running of the program

Benchmarks: computer equipment and software adapted to the program's needs; data security (back-ups); rate of servicing of computers and equipment in general; existence of equipment management procedures

Manage purchases related to maintenance, refreshments & external services in relation only to office and guest house in Addis Ababa

 Responsibility: Reporting

  • Prepares the monthly vehicle fleet, stock and equipment monitoring report for Addis and submit it to LM.
  • Field visits should be scheduled upon request or/and needs.
  • This is to list as exhaustive as possible the duties related to this job. Nevertheless, the employee is expected to be flexible according to program's needs and to accept extra-duties, temporarily or permanently, in respect of working hours and workload.

Job Requirements

Required education and experiences

  • Diploma or First degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, business management. Economics and other related fields.   
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant, full-time work experience in Logistics and operation Management and Administration
  • Experience working in the development field, preferably in NGOs, with donor-funded projects
  • Attention to deadlines and detail-oriented, particularly with regard to operational service agreements, contracts, and other related legal documents
  • Team player, and able to work independently
  • Personal skills
  • Management Skills: influencing skills; Effective mentoring and motivational skills; Problem-solving orientation
  • Work Values: Fair with impeccable integrity; Attention to and consistent achievement of deadlines
  • Interpersonal Skills: positive professional attitude Gender-sensitive; Highly committed and motivated;
