Job Description

Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:

  • research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services (Research new ways of reaching existing markets)
  • Generate and manage quality leads and cold call prospective customers
  • meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • Understand business requirements and build solutions to suit target segment
  • draw up client contracts - depending on the size of company, this task may be completed by someone else or agreements may not be as formal
  • attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • Prepare sales team monthly performance target and discuss with team accordingly
  • Conduct monthly performance review of sales team and report on performance and advise management accordingly
  • Review organization profile and website regularly and ensure proper updates are done on a regular basis
  • Manage the company’s online business and digital marketing activities and report performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Performs all End-to-end Bid management, response to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, Quotation preparation and management; Articulation of solution content in proposal, Bid defense.
  • Solution training, Vendor registration, training/certification and deal registration and management
  • Creating project estimates/budgets, Managing Assigned Projects, Analyzing Cost-variances, Managing/reviewing PO’s and contracts, proposing cost reduction mechanisms for projects.
  • Obtain prices for materials both from the local market and overseas suppliers
  • Follow all bids submitted until win/solution responds
  • Monitor for relevant competitive procurement opportunities, managing the bid and sales opportunities pipeline and circulating opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Develop and submit winning bid responses by working with the internal experts and contractors, as required
  • Research and gather information to include competitor product, price, promotion, bid engagement strategies
  • Master and prepare winning business proposals for all type of client for all types of project/products

Experience & Competencies required:

  • Experience in selling technology related products
  • Experience with preparing and submitting winning bid and business proposal documents
  • Experience with vendor relationship management
  • Experience with sales team management
  • Experience with digital marketing
  • Experience with lead management
  • Must have minimum 3 years working in similar position/industry

Qualification Required:

  • Any Computer related degree
  • Marketing/sales qualification is an added advantage
  • Industry related certifications are mandatory

Communication skills

  • Must be fluent in writing and speaking Amharic and English languages

Place of work: Addis Ababa but shall be required to travel to meet clients in other regions as and when required

Start Date: Immediately
