This collaboration increases effectiveness, both in working in the target countries and in campaigns aimed at influencing the attitudes of politicians and the general public in Europe. In our over 16 years operation in Ethiopia, has focused on projects in five main areas of interest: Education and Social protection, Environment, Livelihood and Agriculture, Water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and Emergency programs.

PIN currently invites qualified applicants for the position of: Project Manager for the specific project entitled “Every Child to School’’ Inclusive Edu project, Ethiopia Benevolent Fund

Job Description:

The Project Manager is primarily responsible for managing inclusive education project overall implementation in Gedeo Zones in collaboration and under the supervision of HOP. Specifically, the following are the responsibilities of the Inclusive Education PM: Manage Inclusive education in the widest sense of Project cycle management, responsible for the successful implementation and administration under supervision of HOP. In particular, PM is not only responsible to attain the specific results in terms of proper quality and time of the activities, but also to ensure that all necessary administrative/financial rules related to the implementation of those activities are followed. PM is also responsible of achieving the intended change in the community and according to the project indicators.

Specific tasks are:

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and share detailed action plans for his/her supervisor approval
  • Take the lead and coordinate the assessment of the current status of ILFE implementation in 5 targeted schools and cluster resource centers in Gedeo Zone
  • Ensure the Development of School IE Action Plan, support and monitoring of its implementation
  • Plan and coordinate the refresher training for school directors and itinerant teachers
  • Cooperate with the schools in identification and support of OOSC and children with disabilities and ensure that they are provided with back-to-school kits and assistive devices
  • Organise quarterly zonal review meetings session on the progress of IE implementation and RC management and discussion on the way of cascading the training
  • Conduct CSO mapping exercise, shortlist potential local NGOs and organize a oneday in-person/virtual regional level workshop to share best practices and lessons learned
  • Throughout the implementation of the project, ensure PIN Education Programme visibility at the regional and federal level
  • Develop and implement PIN Ethiopia Inclusive Education communication and visibility plan (Positioning and visibility of PIN Ethiopia Education Program
  • Actively participate in Education Platforms (clusters, other INGO initiatives)
  • Organize a regional level workshop on IE (Dilla)
  • Ensure that Lessons learned spread among other educational projects and good practices integrated
  • Advocacy on inclusive education jointly with other actors
  • Attain the adequate objectives and results in proper quality and in time supported by relevant data.
  • Ensure the requested administrative outputs (narrative and financial reporting with supportive documents, etc.).
  • Communicate and timely solve all necessary changes related to budget, timeframe or project's Log Frame.
  • Making sure all requirements regarding visibility & reporting are fulfilled, promoting proactively better visibility of PIN´s projects and achievements.
  • Preparation of finance, contracts, invoices in PIN’s internal system based on overall knowledge of projects ´implementation.
  • Application of PIN’s internal procedures (such as Code of Conduct, Mission Manual, Security SOPs, etc.) and enforcing the same rules with the team under his/her supervision and with any other support staff connected with his/her duties.

SECTOR DEVELOHOPMENT

  • Plan and actively search possible ways to develop his/her own sector/inclusive education programming, in particular developing new project ideas, researching and suggesting innovative methodologies, and developing new relations with relevant actors and possible experts.
  • Ensure the proper capacity building of the team under his/her supervision, planning with the HOP the necessary interventions to fill possible gaps in terms of knowledge and expertise.
  • Coordinate collection of necessary information in the assigned sector and initiate of new projects/programs in collaboration with other colleagues.
  • Cultivate relations with partners (local and central authorities, local and international organizations, and other possible stakeholders) in the assigned operating area/zone/region.
  • Attend and participate actively in Regional, Zonal and Woredas meetings.
  • Cooperate with HOP and other PIN’s colleagues in fundraising activities, in particular in developing new project proposals, conducting needs assessments and negotiating with partners and donors.
  • Coordinate in the assigned sector the expertise and information sharing among PIN’s teams and collaborate with other PMs and senior colleagues to the expertise and information sharing among other projects/programs/sectors.
  • Ensure a proper filing of the assigned sector and the related mission memory, and endure that all necessary documents related to his/her tasks are properly uploaded in PIN’s archiving systems.

REPRESENTATION

  • Represent with local authorities, local and international organizations, and other possible stakeholders in the matters related to his/her tasks.
  • Represent PIN whenever requested and expressively delegated by HOP.

MONITORING

  • Monitor constantly the activities related to the sector assigned and evaluate accordingly the status of the activities cooperate with MEAL and communication team
  • Conduct timely and regular field monitoring visits in targeted locations related to the activities ongoing and/or already implemented, and meet partners, local authorities, beneficiaries and other possible stakeholders in order to ensure that activities are implemented and/or have been implemented according to PIN and donors’ rules, Ethiopian regulations.
  •  5. REPORTING
  • Draft and submit all necessary reports to HOP. Reports related to specific project agreements included in his/her sector weekly standard, BOFED, Donor and other internal reports according to PIN requirements (weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually, annually and other deadlines).
  • Prepare all the necessary documents related to the Project Plans Review Session (PPRS) from the project team (weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually, annually and other deadlines) and their submission to HOP according to the related deadlines.
  • Prepare any other report/note requested by HOP, HOP and/or CD. 6. OTHER
  • Perform other assignments according to actual needs of the mission when requested and expressively delegated by HOP, Education and skills expert/ advisor, HOP, or DCD or CD

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Business Development, Economics, Education Administration, Sociology, Human development, Teaching and other related field of study with minimum 4 years of experience in the field.
  • Computer friendly (Word, excel, power point, outlook etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken & written Amharic and English
  • Experience on project planning, Management, reporting, administrative and financial management, coordination with stakeholders, advocacy on inclusive education
  • Experience and working relationship with partners, local government and communities etc.
  • Very good communicative skills with government stakeholders and donor,
  • Previous working experience in the INGO environment
  • Excellent analytical, team work, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent coordination and mobilization skill
  • 3 strong references (will be crosschecked/contacted)
