Job Summery

Key responsibilities:

• Together with the program partners and relevant actors, actively organize, facilitate and participate in planning and implementation of the climate smart agronomy/irrigation development/management strategies and institutionalization of best practices and approaches within the project area and beyond;
• Together with the project field staff closely work with and support communities and government partners to effectively plan and implement agronomy/irrigation activities in the project supported areas as set out in the project document;
• Ensure the involvement of government partner organizations in participatory processes, development, implementation and community enhancement activities in agronomy/irrigation;
• Develop relevant training materials and provide training on improved agricultural practices (e.g. production of high value crops, soil conservation and fertility improved, etc.)
• Carry out tracking of gender balance / marginalized group participation in all project meetings and events including setting up systems with the implementing partners

Job Requirements

• Qualification and Skills: MSc or BSc Degree in General Agriculture, Plant Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, Livestock /Animal science or relevant field & 5 years relevant practical experience, good communication, interpersonal skills and writing skill in English. Knowledge of local
• languages – Afaan Oromo is mandatory
