Technical Manager Job Description/Duties:
- Team build-up, operational and logistical management
- Manage HVAC, Power, Racking, Structured Cabling, Decorations, and Datacenter related work scopes effectively
- Data Center and IT Infrastructure design, Implementation & monitoring
- Material, pricing, Sourcing, and Logistical Operations
- Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders and assisting the sales team in meeting and making presentations to clients
- Coordinating project team and internal/external resources requirements as per project needs
- Designing, reviewing and submitting project contracts and quotations as per client requests
- Supervising tender processes; design, submission and review including preparation and submission of technical proposals and RFP
- Developing project charters, delivery plans, and budgets
- Identify prime risks and limitations within the project plan and design and implement risk mitigation plans
- Provide regular technical training for both internal and external customers as and when needed to educate, enlighten or broaden the understanding of product/solution usage
- Collect and present performance information related to infrastructure projects
- Managing multiple projects at the same time
- Generate or review documentation of project requirements
- Determine the schedule, budget, and resource needs as per each project
- Work with external vendors as needed
- Monitor and report project progress on a daily basis via email
- Optimizing and improving work processes both internally and externally
- Managing large and diverse teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Contributes to technical feasibility in the development of strategic plans for the organization
- Accountable for shaping the project to drive optimum delivery of outputs, including planning at levels appropriate to the complexity of the project, structuring and sequencing appropriate sets of tasks/activities
- Supervising project staff, consultants, vendors, and suppliers
- Must have command of the 5Ons: Schedule, Scope, Budget, Quality, and Benefits at all times in the life cycle of the project
- proposing cost reduction mechanisms for projects
- any other duties or tasks that may be assigned by the line manager/supervisor as and when needed
- Send daily and weekly work plans and report via email to a line manager or immediate supervisor
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience managing data center, cloud, and network infrastructure projects
- Ability to work on high-volume fast-paced projects
- Meets deadlines
- Strong English and Amharic communication skills (both written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and prioritize workload
- Technical and business acumen
- Working knowledge of different Project platforms
- Experience in the leading project team and meeting multiple project deadlines simultaneously
- Proven track record in delivering successful, complex projects
- Significant knowledge of project management principles, methods, techniques, tools, and emerging trends.
- Proven track record in supplier management and commercial acumen
- Strong financial management skills
- Ability to negotiate prices effectively to the advantage of the company with all stakeholders

Required qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical or Communication-related studies
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in Infrastructure and data center projects implementation
- Strong knowledge of IT, Power, HVAC & Data Centre infrastructure solutions
- Demonstrated ability to the difficult and complicated technical teams while providing vision and developing tactical goals and direction
- Ability to lead and manage third-party IT support teams, understand and enforce contractual obligations, and manage both operational and financial aspects of a third-party agreement.
