Logistics Engineer

Our client, an international construction company operating in Ethiopia is looking for a Logistics Engineer to join their team. If you have been working in logistics & supply chain in relation with construction materials or in a construction company, have detailed knowledge about construction materials import process then this is the job for you.

Your key responsibilities will be:

• Contacting shipping agents and supplier of products or the sub contractors in relation with items for shipping 
• Ensure the company receives the necessary shipping documents for materials to be imported for customs clearance process
• Communicate with transistor agents and provide the relevant documentation for customs clearance
• Liaise with the necessary government offices to obtain tax clearance and supporting documents for customs clearance
• Prepare mill sheet and undertake SGS test report where necessary
• Work with QS manager and QS Engineer to decide the Local Shipping agent for the Customs Clearance
• Submit the relevant documents for the authorities through transistors to estimate custom duties (Tax) as per the imported items 
• Witness the inspection of the imported items by the customs officer and complete the procedure for clearance
• Monitor the departure of containers from suppliers port to djibouti, arrival to local dry port and arrange the necessary transportation to receive imported items and report to the QS Manager
• Inform logistic team regarding the upcoming materials and storage arrangements
• Arrange forklifts and mobile cranes for unloading the Materials on site with the coordination with the Logistics team
•  In charge of the unloading of the container, the contents of the container to the Engineers and storage keeper
• Hand over the relevant documents to the Document Controller
• And other tasks as assigned by the manager 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in logistics and supply chain management, procurement, civil engineering, CoTM, Purchasing, Project Management
• 3+ years prior experience in logistics and supply chain management and Customs Clearance in the construction sector 
• Detailed knowledge about the customs clearance process
• Detail-oriented
• Strong excel skills
• Strong English language skills
• Able to start as soon as possible
