PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. IRC has been working in Ethiopia since 1999 and is implementing integrated, community-managed programs aimed at improving the quality of lives and recover of livelihood of disaster-affected population’s through promoting individual participation, strengthening institutions and emergency response.
Scope of work/ job purpose:
Under the direct supervision of Camp and technical supervision of CWI Program Managers, the GBV Response Officer will ensure the quality of GBV case management service and psychosocial support to survivors of GBV. The position holder should adhere to GBV guiding principle, and follow the survivor’s centered approach. She will work to promote multi-sectoral services; health, safety, psychosocial support, and justice by supporting referral networks to improve a survivor’s ability to receive confidential, safe, and timely services that meet their needs and their best interest in Tsore new site. The Response Officer should supervise and capacity building of social Workers, support GBV coordination with other partners, and supervise the empowerment activities with women and girls.
Detailed responsibility and tasks:
Develop monthly and weekly activity plans for social workers
Supervisory/Basic managerial skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience in participatory techniques and community mobilization
