Specific duties and responsibilities

• Handle escalated application issues for second tier resolution ;
• Participate in the development and implementation of Information Technology Strategy, Governance framework, Enterprise Architecture, Information Systems policy and procedure.
• Lead and monitor the investigation and resolution of complex and recurring problems.
• Manage the customization, upgrade, parameterization of the core banking system based on the business requirement.
• Develop new functionalities and features on the core Banking based on the business requirement.
• Prepare technical and functional specifications for new applications and software acquisition process; and participate on the bid evaluation, implementation and testing process
• Develop documents like user manuals, administration manuals and standard operating manuals on changes and developments on the core Banking;
• Properly implement version tracking system, changes management and configuration management for the core Banking for faster recovery and service continuity.
• Review and monitor the proper configuration, optimization and backing up of applications, patches, and scripts on an on-going basis with proper versioning. .
• Analyze, and recommend improvements to the Information Technology service management frameworks and implement in relation to application support as required;
• Deliver Bank -level technical training for application end users;
• Review the prepared test areas and ensure that proper testing is conducted before releases/ upgrades are applied on production; and the proper change and release management procedures are followed in deploying releases/upgrades on production.
• Check that the proper replication, functioning and upgrading of all applications on DR site are functioning well.
• Define user roles on the core Banking based on lowest risk level and higher security principles.
• Handle the communication with vendors of Core Banking related services in order to maximize their value in technical support, change management and upgrade of systems.

Job Requirements

• Qualification & Experience: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information System, Information Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with six(6)/eight(8) years of relevant work experience; of which two years of experience should be at Principal or Senior Officer.
• Specialist experience in information technology and banking sector
• Recent work experience in Oracle FLEXCUBE Universal Banking and PLSQL programming is preferable.
