Job Title: Explosive Ordnance Risk Education Supervisor

Background

Rehabilitation and Development Organization (RaDO) is looking for competent and qualified applicants for the following positions. RaDO is an NGO currently working on the area of Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS, Gender Based Violence (GBV), etc. Currently, RaDO is operational in the Somalia , Sudanese and Eritrean refugee camps located in Ethiopia.

Job Summary

Coordinating and managing Explosive Ordnance risk education in Explosive Ordnance impacted communities for the purpose of raising their awareness and promoting behavioural change towards Explosive Ordnance and to reduce the risk of injury from EO.

Major Roles and responsibilities:

  • Initiate, plan and coordinate EORE in targeted communities.
  • Ensure that all reports from the field are properly completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure timely reporting to RaDO Head Office. 
  • Liaise with local authorities, community leaders, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the EORE activities.
  • Supervise and ensure that the tasked EORE activities are carried out in the field.
  • Ensure that the team has the necessary materials and other equipment to carry out the designated activities.
  • Conduct refresher training for the EORE team and ensure the skills of the EORE team are according to standards.
  • Conduct training for the focal point and EORE volunteers in the project site.
  • Maintain good communication with other Mine Action interventions.
  • Maintain good communication with partner organizations.
  • Maintain good relationships with other mine action interventions in the area including those involved in the survey, marking and clearance to ensure good coordination and shared knowledge.
  • Manage funds as required.
  • Any other business as required by RaDO.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Minimum BA degree in relevant social science

Experience

  • Four years for BA and two years for MA in areas of social mobilization community education and managerial position.

Language

  • English and Afar language are mandatory.
