• Represent the company in courts, judicial and semi-judicial tribunals, commissions, police authorities, government bodies and arbitration proceedings on cases brought by or against the Company;
•  Compiles evidences and follow-up court proceedings;
•  Comply with all policy and procedure manuals in handling cases;
•  Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified and appropriate courses of action have been taken;
•  Ascertain that all agreements, contracts, undertakings and deals made by the Company safeguard and protect the interests of the Company;
• Review and advise management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures;
•  Review and draft contracts, agreements and insurance policies in light of legal perspectives and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements;
•  Provide legal opinions as may be required by all work units within the Company, in such areas as claims settlement processes, collective agreement, negotiations and contracts;
• Engage in legal research works on areas related to insurance policies and reinsurance agreements, contracts and legal documents being used by the Company and recommend amendments if any to be incorporated in light of new legislation;
• Keep abreast with all legislations issued by the government as well as directives issued by supervisory authorities and advise all units within the company about such new developments which may affect the company;
• Provide and interpret legal information, conduct training and disseminate appropriate legal requirements to staff;
• Review the performance and activities of retention advocates;
• Follow up Third Party Recovery and collection through amicable means;
• Prepare daily, monthly and quarterly reports;
• Perform similar duties as may be assigned by his supervisor;

Job Requirements

• LLB in Law
• 1-2 year relevant experience
• Computer skill:- Mandatory
• Afan Ormo is Preferable
