GIZ- Internal/External Vacancy Announcement ‘#066/2022’
CLM – Climate Sensitivity Innovation for Land Management
GIZ provides technical assistance to the MoA’s flagship programs in Sustainable Land Management since its inception, at national, regional, and local levels. The new program module “Climate-Sensitive Innovations in Land Management” (CLM) which runs from July 2021 to June 2024 focuses on the capacity development of SLM implementors through policy and institutional development advisory, technical and managerial support, field-level coaching, training, networking, piloting field activities as well as research and communications.
Developing a scalable model for the protection of the Lake Ecosystem is one of the outputs expected from the project. Accordingly, Lake Chamo is selected for pilot testing of innovative approaches and practice through technical and financial development cooperation made with key implementing partner MoA. A thematic advisor will be deployed by the CLM project to steer and advise efforts on value chain development, institutional development, natural resource management, and participatory land-use plan in the Lake Chamo Ecosystem. The project will also deploy consulting firm with its additional staffing on those thematic topics to provide technical advice to the SLM implementation in the lake catchment woredas and zones. The intended development in lake chamo is expected to take two prompt approaches of supporting the implementation of innovative landscape management practices on one hand and initiating change in the attitude of communities and the general public through broader dissemination of knowledge generated on ecosystem safeguarding. In this regard, GIZ CLM is looking for Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist to support and lead the development of communication products and systems, documentation and sharing of knowledge, organizing and facilitating national and ecosystem-level advocacy and mobilization efforts of the CLM project.
