 Job Summary 

The Environmental& Climate Change Programs Coordinator under the supervision of the Executive Director will be responsible for providing management and technical assistance in day to day implementation of PHE Ethiopia Consortium’s activities in advocacy, research, communication, capacity building and networking and PHE Ethiopia Consortium’s supported and member, network activities and program/projects particularly in the Expansion of PHE integration and other developmental issues. The Programs Coordinator will be primarily responsible for ensuring the achievement of PHE integration related Environmental and climate related project deliverables and targets in PHE approach and PHE approach and PHE integration project areas. The Programs Coordinator is expected to carry out routine activity planning and implementation of field level activities coordinate and monitor/supervise timely implementation of program/project activities. He/she will also be responsible in ensuring appropriate tracking of project results towards complementing the achievement of the organization’s mission and vision through imparting new values and innovations into the PHEEC’s intervention.

Duties and Responsibility 

  • Manage, develop, maintain, support and/or coordinate environmental and sustainable development initiatives in line with the organization’s objectives.
  • Develops project proposals related to environmental conservation, rehabilitation, natural resources management etc.
  • Develop and sustain local partnerships with groups, organizations and agencies.
  • Ensure that the works and projects of the PHE EC complements and adds value to other existing local services, projects and initiatives and supports the development of the country
  • Provide appropriate leadership within the overall team concept, while at the same time, maintaining personal accountable for success.
  • Coordinate and collaborate project implementers to ensure timely communications and deliverables.
  • Attend and participate in relevant technical meetings/workshops, create and maintaining partnership for future engagements with potential stakeholders.
  • Maintain up to date records and reports.
  • Any other duty in relation to PHE, as determined by the Executive Director, as and where appropriate and commensurate with the constraints of the post.  
  • Oversee budget, financial tracking, and compliance with the financial reporting process      
  • Develop and submit periodic reports for the donor and PHE EC

Job Requirements

Required minimum qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in natural resources management, climate change, environmental science, agricultural economics, or equivalent.
  • Has at least 5 years of practical experience in managing projects/programs related to environment and climate, 2 years of which should be in leading teams or projects.;
  • Displays capacity of adaptability  
  • Organize and accurately completes multiple tasks by establishing priorities while taking into consideration special assignments, meeting deadlines, available resources
  • Establishes builds and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partner organizations to facilitate the provision of support.
  • Excellent communication in the English language both written and oral, report writing, and documentation skill.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, Database Software’s and Social Media tools such as Face book, LinkedIn, and Twitter for the benefit of the work 
  • Has the experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and local communities.
  • Has the ability to synthesize and analyze information critically. 
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
