Purpose: 

Under the close supervision of the immediate supervisor, carries out routine accounting tasks ;prepares vouchers of routine nature; performs simple calculations ;checks calculations of transactions; checks the validity of source of supporting documents ;verifies dates, signatures, seals, and other particulars of financial documents as per instructions ; verifies summaries of entries against source documents ;assists in reconciling bank or other statements ; participates in taking inventory , preparation of payroll, and routine cash auditing ; maintains accounting and budgetary records.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Carries out routine accounting tasks; prepares vouchers of routine nature; conducts simple calculations; checks calculations of transactions.
• Verifies source documents, vouchers, validity of payments, receipts, etc.; verifies dates, signatures, seals, and other particulars of documents as per instructions; and assigns code numbers.
• Assists in the preparation of trial balances, financial statements and statistical reports and makes adjustments to discrepancies as per guidelines and instructions.
• Prepares payroll ensuring appropriate deductions. Makes budget analysis, controls allocated budget and reports excess utilization.
• Participates in the timely preparation of receivables , payables, fixed asset and inventory counting.
• participates in routine cash auditing ;maintains accounting and/or budgetary records in a safe custody.
• Prepares cheque and letter transfer for approved payment.
• Manages various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request.

Job Requirements

Education: 

• BA Degree in Accounting or Accounting & Finance

Work experience:

• 0/ 4 years in Accounting

Knowledge:

• Intermediate English (Oral & written)
• MS Office - User
