Major responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Ensure accurate general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, balances.
• Ensure the financial and accounting integrity of World Vision Ethiopia.
• Process cash payments, and bank deposits,
• Monitor general ledger and advance accounts for overdue balances.
• Cancellation of financial documents
• Minimize financial impacts relating to cash flow, deferral, and fund accounting.
• Provide assistance to Accounts Manager as needed, on accounting issues.

Accounting Systems, Processes, and Controls

• Apply World Vision Ethiopia’s cash accounting systems, processes, and controls.
• Apply cash and bank policies and procedures.
• Contribute to the development of World Vision Ethiopia’s cash management policies.
• Ensure accurate internal reporting.

Financial and Accounting Reports

• Provide accurate and timely daily cash reports.
• Ensure all cash advances and aging accounts are correctly stated.
• Provide regulatory reports, as needed.
• Reconcile World Vision Ethiopia petty cash accounts.

Financial Risk and Tax Management

• Apply the organization’s overall accounting policies.
• Apply World Vision Ethiopia’s accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Prepare auditable month-end supporting account reconciliations and schedules.
• Prepare local statutory and tax reporting.
• Collaborate with audit staff on annual independent audits.
• Comply with World Vision Ethiopia’s accounting policies and procedures, both written and unwritten, and report any instances of non-compliance.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education :

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Experience :

• A balanced combination of at least four years of Cash Management experience in INGOs and for-profit businesses.
• Knowledge and skills:
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work in a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff.
• Able to articulate and communicate ideas well verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of excel and sun system.
