Job Title: Legal Credit – Senior Attorney

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Job Overview

Salary: Based on Company’s Scale

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designs and prepares loans, pledges/mortgages, and other related contracts;
  • Ensure the legality of all borrowers;
  • Review contracts, ensure their completeness, and signs them;
  • Review appropriateness of the registration of mortgage contracts and the collateral insurance policy/contracts;
  • Review and Follow up the period of limitation of Mortgage contracts for timely and proper action;
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports;
  • Represent the Bank before a court of law, other judicial tribunals, and organs;
  • Track legal defects and loopholes and take/recommends appropriate corrective measures;
  • Mentors/trains the process team members on legal issues;
  • Works collaboratively with credit performers;
  • Perform other related duties given by the supervisor.

Job Requirement

Education:

LLM/LLB Degree in Law

Experience:

Minimum 6/8 years Banking experience, of which 4 years in the area of Law
