Company Description

Senselet Food Processing is a potato processing company in Ethiopia producing potato chips. The company was set up in 2015 by Veris to contribute to developing the potato value chain.

Senselet’s factory has been set up in accordance with European standards and knowledge and produces high quality potato crisps, branded as Sun Chips, that are sold locally in the Ethiopian market.

Responsibilities

Import and Export Coordinator

• Manage the import and export of the company
• The coordinator will lead the team, currently consisting out of 2 employees. For the coordinator Senselet expects good organization/coordination of the execution and in parallel work on processes to improve the way of working continuously.

 Import

• Manage all import of Multimodal and Unimodal shipments
• Manage and coordinate customs cleaning process of all imported items
• Manage and coordinate Air shipment and road shipments of all imported items
• Manage communication with cleaning agent in Ethiopia and Djibouti
• Negotiate on quotation
• Manage contract
• Manage payment
• Take a lead in checking duty calculation and tariff clarification which is provided by clearing agent and/or customs
• Manage any discussion in customs on imported goods
• Advice supplier in import document preparation and Ethiopia import rules and procedures
• Manage duty free process in Ethiopian investment commission for import where duty free is applicable
• Coordinate foreign currency application and bank permit in Ethiopian single window system
• Coordinate all application in Ethiopian single window and EFDA online system related to import
• Manage bank LC/CAD/TT process
• Coordinate Ethiopian shipping lines process (freight request, freight settlement, container deposit and return)
• Coordinate the utilization of foreign exchange at National bank of Ethiopia.
• Responsible for managing marine and inland insurance for all imported items
• Coordinate all shipment in unimodal process
• Transit permit
• Outside inspection
• Pre import permission
• Manage shipment tracking database
• Responsible of preparing monthly report on imported goods including costs incurred
• Responsible for managing shipment in transit
• Responsible for providing all necessary shipping document for finance for all imported goods
• Mange communication with factory/head office team on imported items

Export

• Manage the customs process of exported items
• Responsible of advising rules and regulation to import in different location
• Responsible for advising in export document
• Coordination any application in ESW regarding to export
• Manage communication with bank
• Manage communication with clearing agent regarding to exported items

Job Requirements

Education

• BA degree in logistics and supply chain management/Business fields

Experience

• Minimum of experience 5-7 years as import and export coordinator in manufacturing sector with proven Knowledge of Ethiopian customs rules and regulation, and also customs tariff and duty clarification.

Technical skills

• Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, assess priorities, and manage multiple activities with attention to detail, meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent problem-solving capacity, with demonstrated ability for considerable analysis and sound judgment to find solutions in a complex environment with shifting and competing priorities.
