Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Mobility Aid Production unit leader, the Machine Operator is responsible for the operating, maintaining simple machineries like pipe bender, and drill press machineries and bend, drill grind, cut and form metal or plastic materials such as pipe, rod, or flat and solid round bar stock.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates, maintains simple machineries like pipe bender, and drill press machineries and bends, drills grinds, cuts and forms metal or plastic materials such as pipe, rod, or flat and solid round bar stock
• Inspect sample work pieces to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, venier calipers, and measuring tapes
• Maintains repair machineries and production equipment
• Participate in technical problem solving
• Conducts training for his/her assistants on Machine operation
• Prepares annual materials requirements for his/her work
• Write reports of the activities undertaken by him/her as required
• Performs any other related duties as directed by the Mobility Aid Production unit leader or MRC Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• Level III or Level II in Metal Processing and fabrication

Experience

• 3 years in machine operator for Level III and 6 years for Level II
