FDRE Land Bank Development Corporation (LBDC) is a newly established self-funded government enterprise tasked with creating a methodical and inclusive national landholding development, management and administration system for maximization of socio-economic gains.
LonAdd Consultancy Plc. is recruiting highly qualified professionals for this position on behalf of FDRE Land Bank Development Corporation (LBDC).
Purpose and reporting of this role
The Senior Legal Advisor reports to the Operations Director and is responsible to research laws, cases, prepare exhibits, write reports, and provide assistance in researching legal matters for LBDC.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting legal research for new projects, digging up vital information in support of LBDC senior management and board of directors with new and current standing contracts, maintaining databases and facilitating communication between clients. Including being the legal representative at contract negotiations.
- Research relevant legal documents related to new and ongoing international business dealings and contract negotiations.
- Distribute and receive documents related to cases on hand to support busines portfolio focused project designing;
- Serve as the liaison between LBDC and its stakeholders both at national and international level.
- Design and implement alongside senior management the legal operational framework of LBDC.
- Facilitate the legalization of LBDC’s digitalization roadmap and ensure data processing is in compliance with data protection laws.
- Serves as the legal advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Assist in the oversight and management of the legal compliance duties and provide counsel and operations support on a broad range of matters including regulatory compliance, employment risk management, contract, liability and insurance management.
- Serves as the one of the focal negotiators in public private partnerships and JV’s carried out by LBDC.
Job Requirements
Experience and Educational Qualifications
- LLB or above in Law;
- 5+ years in legal advisory positions;
Skills and Competencies
- Attention to detail with strong Legal knowledge and practice

- Critical thinking topped with research and analytical skills.
- Thorough understanding of international contract administration and management, negotiation skills and FDI negotiations.
- Knowledge and understanding of valuation, property development and wealth creation.
- In depth knowledge of Ethiopian laws relevant to land holding, leasing and commercial real estate laws;
- Familiarity with basic research methods and reporting techniques with special focus on legal frameworks for various financing models ( equity financing, dept financing …etc;
- Ability to function autonomously, yet effective as a member of a coordinated team;
- Excellent proofreading/editing skills; familiarity with diplomatic protocol,
- Handle confidential material and sensitive information discretely;

Language
- Fluency in English and Amharic are required
- Additional national and international language skill is advantageous
