FDRE Land Bank Development Corporation (LBDC) is a self-funded government enterprise tasked with creating a methodical and inclusive national landholding development, management and administration system for maximization of socio-economic gains.

LonAdd Consultancy Plc. is recruiting highly qualified professionals for this position on behalf of FDRE Land Bank Development Corporation (LBDC).

Purpose and reporting of this role

The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, monitoring and controlling the audit and inspection duties of LBDC. He/she develops systems, guidelines and procedures to effectively and efficiently manage the audit activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and adopts standard auditing policies, systems and procedures and contributes to the formulation of operational policies and advises management in major operational activities.
  • Prepares action plans and periodic reports and timely submit to the CEO;
  • Performs audit in a professional manner and in accordance to generally accepted accounting and auditing standards or IFRS;
  • Conducts post-audits for the expenditure and revenue (sales) of LBDC and reports his/her findings to the CEO;
  • Makes surprise audit and cash count and checks the cash management of LBDC when deemed necessary;
  • Checks that sales, purchases, human resource management, vehicle management, and other management activities are carried out according to policies and procedures laid out by LBDC and report discrepancy thereof;
  • Reviews the effectiveness of internal controls in safeguarding LBDC’s assets, achieving efficiency and economy in operations, and obtaining compliance with LBDC and government regulations, and activity results;
  • Ensures that comments of external auditors are addressed by concerned departments and service units;
  • Prepares and submits along with the audit report proper and clearly understandable, working papers accurately cross referenced all evidential matters supporting findings and assertions to the CEO;
  • Identifies the possible risks and propose solution to minimize the occurrence of the risk;
  • Support the success of LBDC by filling any gap in action.

Job Requirements

Experience and Educational Qualifications

  • BA degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field;
  • Accounting software trainings;
  • 5+ years in performing financial and/or control audits;
  • Fluency in English and Amharic are required;
  • Additional national and international language skill is advantageous;
