Who we are:

Nutrition International (NI) formerly Micronutrient Initiative, is a Canadian based International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to delivery of proven nutrition interventions with a focus on mothers, children under 5 years and adolescents. The vision of NI is a world where everyone, everywhere is free from malnutrition and able to reach their full potential. Currently, Nutrition International is seeking applications for a high calibre and results oriented individual with integrity in the position of Economist/Modeler to be based in Ethiopia.

The role:

In this role you will Support the DCD to ensure that the public health and economic analyses for DFS-IoFA are completed in a robust and timely manner and the evidences are made available for the national, regional and global level advocacy. The position holder, a subject matter expert, together with the team will first build an understanding of exactly what the needs for public health analysis and economic evaluation including modelling would be most appropriate to inform policy and investment decisions into DFS-IoFA and furthermore will determine the selection of economic model and tools, compile data and analyze the data from multiple relevant sources.

Job Requirements

What we are looking for:

• You will have at minimum, a Master’s degree from a recognized university in Health Economics, and Health Policy Research, Nutrition or related fields, Training in Epidemiology, biostatistics or econometrics, an asset.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in research and evaluation, economic evaluations of health and nutrition interventions, policy advocacy, 3 years’ experience of food fortification, and nutrition. At least 5 years of experience in Project management.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Amharic required.
