Brief Background

Christoffel-Blindenmission (CBM) is an International Christian Development Organization committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. CBM describes its vision as seeking to build and promote an inclusive world in which all persons with disabilities enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential. CBMs approach to achieving this is ensuring that all development interventions they implement are disability-inclusive. Disability inclusive development focuses particularly on the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. It actively seeks to ensure the full participation of people with disability as empowered self-advocates in all development processes and emergency responses and works to address the barriers which hinder their access and participation. CBM’s approach is also strongly influenced by its Core Values.

CBM’s Country Office Ethiopia is located in Addis Ababa. CBM CO Ethiopia works with project partners for the implementation of various programmes to help it achieve its vision. Currently CBM CO Ethiopia works with approximately 26 partners in 5 Regions.

Objectives of the training:

• The overall objective of the Team Building is to improve team cohesion and communication in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within CBM Ethiopia Country Office
• The specific objective of the Team Building is to provide CBM Ethiopia Staff Members with concrete tools and strategies to address communication and relational issues, for effective execution of the required work

• Team Building Agenda
• Resource materials
• Report of the Team Building with outcomes and recommendations

Venue and date

Tentatively, the CBM Ethiopia Country Office Team Building should be held from the 20th to 23rd of June 2022(Three days of team building) in a venue outside of Addis Ababa to be designated by the CBM Ethiopia Country Office.

Job Requirements

Desired qualifications and competences 

• Proven professional experience in facilitating practical and participatory Team Building 

The Consultant will be expected to:

• Conduct necessary pre-team building preparations: schedule, handouts, and materials for the team building.
• Conduct a Rapid Assessment of the Country Office in order to establish main internal dynamics
• Submit the draft plan to CBM Ethiopia Country Office for preliminary evaluation and clearance
• Facilitate a session on communication skills, participatory
• Facilitate a four-day Team Building outside CBM Office, in a designated place. 
• Report- prepare a report highlighting the key outcomes at each stage of the session including suggestions for appropriate future options and recommendations.
