Quality Assurance Engineer Responsibilities:

• Evaluate specification, requirements, and technical design documents to provide prompt and valuable feedback
• Develop detailed and well-structured test cases and plans
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Find, record, track bugs, and perform thorough documentation
• Carry out detailed regression testing after bugs have been resolved
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Monitor debugging process results
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
• Track defect densities and open-defect counts and other quality assurance metrics
• Stay knowledgeable of new testing tools and strategies
• Liaise with internal teams like developers and product managers to identify system requirements
• Perform reviews of automation code
• Mentor and lead team on testing automation
• Partner with business resources, system analyst, designers, and programmers to ensure that quality assurance processes and timelines are incorporated
• Identify resource needs, effectively plan, define test strategy, provide quality assurance estimate, and provide test management and test reporting throughout the testing cycle
• Train employees in inspection, statistical, and problem-solving techniques         
• Create tests to identify software problems
• Analyze bugs and errors found during tests
• Document results of tests for the software development team
• Recommend improvements in software to enhance user experience
• Motivate the development process for efficiency and performance
• Works together with the software developer to enhance and improve programs
• Research and compare similar competitor products
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements

Job Requirements

Quality Assurance Engineer Requirements:

• Degree in information technology, computer science, Business Administration and related academic background.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working one service platform or similar system implementation projects.
• A wide range of knowledge/familiarity with and experience on the newly developed service platform.
• Good communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work in Agile environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent analytical problem solving skills.
