Background

Our company is seeking a Agro mechanic capable of working independently to various client sites to effect repair in the field and to retrieve and repair equipment as necessary. Agro Mechanics and Service Technicians is to diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul agro machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, dairy equipment, and irrigation systems.

Job Description

• Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose failures
• Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, milling and woodworking machines, welding equipment, grinders.
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems.
• Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary
• Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools.
• Clean and lubricate parts
• Record details of repairs made and parts used.
• Tune or overhaul engines.
• Ability to fabricate new metal parts, using drill presses, engine lathes, and other machine tools is a plus
• Repair bent or torn sheet metal.
• Install and repair agricultural irrigation, plumbing, and sprinkler systems.

Job Requirements

Requirements; Education & Experience:

• Diploma/Level III/IV in Automotive, general mechanic or Agricultural Machineries with 5/4 year working experiences in Agro mechanic or related fields,
• Familiarity with employee safety requirements.
• Fundamental understanding of agro mechanic processes
• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of agro production machinery and equipment is a plus.
• Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
• Understand and follow work an instruction in English, Amharic, and Oromifa is a plus.

·        Ability to communicate both written and orally to other team members and management about daily assignments.
