Job Description

• Generally, agriculture mechanics use tools to diagnose and then fix problems in a machine's systems
• This position might include tasks ranging from working on an engine's electrical system or carburetor to welding cracked pipefittings.
• These types of mechanics are responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the repair and maintenance of farming equipment.
• ·This step-by-step process may involve replacement of parts or upgrading of outdated components.
• Agricultural mechanics are responsible for fixing tractors, combines and other farming implements.
• Often, mechanics use specialized skills and experience to locate and diagnose the machine's problem and then generate a cost-effective solution.
• In this endeavor, agricultural mechanics may use computer-aided systems to help troubleshoot and even repair the faulty part or parts.
• In some instances, only a calibration or installation is required, such as equipping a chain to a chainsaw or calibrating a fertilizer dispensing system.
• Care for machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance.
• Ensure work area and equipment is always kept clean and orderly.
• Daily examination of equipment for assigned area to identify signs of excessive wear, defects, and damage.
• Repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure they are always in proper working order.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas or to install new or repaired parts.
• Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and repaired in a manner which meets company standards and minimizes downtime.
• Maintain accurate documentation for assignments, machine repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance logs.
• Prioritize work assignments to ensure efficiency and that production schedules can be met
• Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process. Observe and promote all plant safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) specifications.
• Coordinates with production the scheduling of repair and maintenance work.
• Train other Maintenance Mechanics as required.

Job Requirements

Requirements; Education & Experience:

Diploma/Level IV/ BSC in Automotive or Agricultural Machineries with 6/5 year working experiences and at least 3 years as a senior Agro mechanic or related fields, 

• Familiarity with employee safety requirements.

• Fundamental understanding of agro mechanic processes

• Broad depth of experience and knowledge of agro production machinery and equipment is a plus.

• Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.

• Understand and follow work an instruction in English, Amharic, and Oromifa is a plus.

• Ability to verbally communicate material effectively in a training environment.
