The main purpose of job

Direct and control the company’s technique and workshop function to ensure the provision of comprehensive maintenance and engineering service so that all processes, transport trucks, and other equipment are developed and maintained to agreed standards.

Main responsibilities

• Direct and control all the staff of the technique and workshop department function to ensure that all processes, transport trucks, and other equipment are developed and maintained to agreed standards.
• Develop the department’s budget in discussion with the technical staff and other work process managers and maintain any necessary systems and processes to ensure effective budget monitoring and control
• Monitor all transport and service trucks maintenance work to ensure that it is carried out to the required standard and within agreed budget levels.
• Direct and control all the special, scheduled, and irregular repair and maintenance works to ensure that they are completed to the standards required within agreed timescales and to the agreed budget level
• Provide expertise and technical advice on all aspects of repair and maintenance work process and order management to all staff to bring the system to function and ensure effective decision making
• Develop the company’s strategy about the repair and maintenance to ensure that all maintenance standards are adhered to by all technique staff and drivers
• Maintain knowledge of modern repair and maintenance techniques, work processes, equipment handling, and management and recommend any new systems that will enhance the effectiveness of the technique and workshop department
• Recruit, train and motivate maintenance staff to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standards
• Investigate and resolve any disciplinary or employee relations issues to ensure that all work processes continue to be maintained to the standards necessary to meet operational requirements

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

• At least a certified diploma from in auto, mechanical and related engineering colleges or Vocational colleges
• A minimum of 10 years experience as a senior mechanic and leadership in technique and workshop management;
• Good knowledge of the transport industry
• Excellent experience in managing teams in a technical environment
• Extraordinary ability to solve technical problems
• Good human relations, motivational and communication skills
• Highly proficient in the knowledge of modern maintenance techniques and standards
• Good project management skills
• Good computer skills
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills…
