Job Description
Plane international Ethiopia is therefore looking for a project manager for both Amhara conflict responses funded by DRA Ethiopia Joint Response. This position will be a part of Education and WASH initiative to contribute for conflict affected and other triggering factors for host and IDP communities to respond to and recovery opportunities for pre-primary and primary school aged IDPs, women and men, and host community children and parts of the community impacted by conflict and other factors
This position holder would be responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the education components of the project. S/he is required to co-ordinate intervention activities and collaborative work with other Emergency Response team members and Plan staff, specifically with project management, WASH, health and other relevant technical sectors. The project manager should have active role in technical co-ordination, facilitation of interventions, creating joint platforms for collaborative work and information sharing as well as advocacy with the country specific clusters including Education, WASH, and with other technical agencies and stakeholders relevant to the sector.
DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
The project manager is responsible for the overall management of project implementation and progress of activities as per the project plan, budget, logical framework and contractual compliance obligations. He/she will oversee and ensure that implementing partners and field level teams have the required level of support, guidance, and information in order to implement the project with high standard, coordinating and communicating effectively with the Education in Emergency, and WASH teams ,follow up and support as required. He/ she shall work closely with implementing partner project technical staffs to ensure provision of technical oversight and support for the country team to utilize evidence based, best practice approaches and methodologies in project programming, drawing on the collective experience, capacity, approaches and methodologies.
The project manager shall also be responsible for effective communication of project progress, issues arising and proposed solutions to the sectorial team of PiE and the partner. She/he will be responsible for consolidating all financial and narrative reports from the implementing partner, after conducting a surface review, and submitting the consolidated reports to the Education in Emergency Lead.
