bbw gGmbH - International Division is part of bbw e.V., founded in 1969, and belongs to a group of 17 companies active in the fields of educational and personnel services. The objective of the group of companies is to improve and strengthen professional, economic and social qualifications. Its international division has been implementing development projects for more than 25 years, which are financed by the BMZ, the German Foreign Office, the EU and other donors. In addition to currently more than 50 ongoing projects and measures in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe as well as the MENA region, the bbw international division has been represented for many years with its own locations and offices in China, the Czech Republic, Ethiopia and Tunisia.

An important part of the international projects as well as the group of companies is the provision of digital educational services. This includes the development of learning management systems, development of digital teaching concepts and content, consulting on the conversion of digital teaching processes and the design of databases and educational platforms. 

The bbw is currently participating in an international tender for a project in Ethiopia. The objective of the project is the digitalization of core processes and development of blended learning formats for the TVET system in Ethiopia. The main objective of the assignment is to improve the capacities for the implementation of digitalized TVET through the development of blended learning formats, to strengthen capacities to implement digitalized TVET by ToT and to implement digital core processes such as digital examination/assessment, digital registration procedures and digital career guidance. The project will start in December 2022 with a duration of 24 month.

For the realisation of the project bbw is searching for an International Further Training Expert.

Tasks of the Further Training Expert 

• Responsibility for the implementation of WP 2 (Further training on the use and development of blended learning methodologies in teaching and training)
• Technical lead and advisory for the concept development and roll-out of the ToT
• Provide didactical input for WP 1 (development of the three blended learning formats)
• Close collaboration with expert 3 (Blended Learning Advisor)
• Close coordination with expert 2 (National Project Coordinator) 

Job Requirements

Qualifications of the Further Training Expert 

• Education/training: University degree (master or equivalent) in education, adult education, organizational development, or instructional design
• Languages: Knowledge of English (C2) in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
• General professional experience: 7 years of experience in the field of further training and continuous professional development measures
• Specific professional experience: 5 years of experience in providing further training on blended learning and instructional design in form of a ToT for TVET and/or higher education actors
• Regional experience: 2 years of relevant experience working in Subsaharan-Africa and/or Ethiopia
• Development cooperation (DC) experience: 2 years of experience working in DC projects
