Purpose of the position 

The Medical Doctor is responsible to provide technical and operational support to mobile health and nutrition team and ensure quality of clinical procedures about patient’s cases management and referral at outreach locations is maintained. The position holder is also expected to provide a consistent and high quality essential primary health care service in relation to outpatient consultation, case management of survivors of sexual violence, and assist the mobile health and nutrition team and PHEM to strengthen the surveillance system and quality of health care delivery at outreach locations. The position holder is responsible for closely working with the RHB, regional cluster coordination, ZHO, WHO and stakeholders.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in Mobile Health and Nutrition Team to provide essential lifesaving primary health care services to displaced people and people who have no access to health services.
• Facilitate training of staff under his/her supervision in their work with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and standard operating procedures
• Provide technical support and participate in carrying out all components of MNCH packages (ANC, PNC, FP, PMTCT, labor and delivery, EPI
• Ensure quality of clinical procedures maintained at outreach locations
• Work with pharmacy logistics officer to ensure medicines and medical supplies availability to MHNT and health facilities
• Work closely with Health and nutrition Project manager and ensure an integrated approach for effective project implementation and monitoring.
• Share weekly (essential health MHNT, PHEM, 5W and mortality), monthly, quarterly year, 6 months as well as yearly reports to responsible ones (line manager, H&N coordinator and HCC) timely.
• Assess health facilities in the nearby interventional zonal areas for functionality, medications and medical equipment’s shortage and prepare BOQ to be given to demand to line managers so that the functionality is maintained as soon as possible.
• Prepare weekly action plan to the team and follow the achievements met.

Job Requirements

Required Qualification

• A Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Medical Doctor) with proven experience in supervising, coaching and mentoring others
• English and local language ​

Required Professional Experience

• Previous work experience at least 2 years as a member of Mobile Health and Nutrition Team with NGOs.

Working Environment / Conditions:

• The position requires frequent travel to outreach locations.
