Job Summary

The Production and Technical Department Manager, is accountable to the Company General Manager and is responsible for studying strategic directions for the success of the company plan; Manages the plan responsibly by approving and implementing it. Plans together, Organizes, directs, evaluates, and supervises; Manages its employees and executives as per the organizational structure of the company; 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• To direct and make decisions on the part of the employees and executives to fulfill the mission and vision of the company in accordance with the directives given by the General Manager.

• Follows and verifies the implementation of policies, strategies, and guidelines for managing the plant and its operations.

• Develop, approve and implement the overall short, medium and long term plan of the plan

• To make the overall plan work competitively and effectively by planning, directing, coordinating and supervising.

• Improves the quality of the factory in collaboration with the relevant institutions such as the Ethiopian Quality Assurance Authority, the Accreditation and Evaluation Agency and other institutions.

• Supports department managers who are directly accountable to the plant manager, and monitors their performance on a regular basis; Monitor and evaluate their performance.

• Facilitate conditions for the factory to be effective by providing the necessary manpower, raw materials, finances and other resources for the factory;

• Provides up-to-date reports on the operation of the factory to the General Manager; Organizes feedback and makes it accessible;

• Performs other duties assigned by the General Manager:

• Perform other duties and responsibilities given by the company manager.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required 

Education

• BSC/MSC degree in Mechanical engineering. Chemical engineering, Electrical engineering, Industrial engineering.

Experience

• 9 years for BSC degree or 7 years for MSC degree Relevant work experience in Manufacturing Industries and of which 3 years and above in a responsibility Position. 

Other Personal Attributes

• having good experience in manufacturing companies with the positions of  Production and Technical managers, having an innovativeness sprit, having an  integrity behavioral, team work sprit, good ethical behavior, good customer handling and serving approach skill, willingness to accept changes and implement it; no prior disciplinary records, recommendable/accepted for the position; accepting the given responsibility and being committed for overcoming responsibilities; good previous performance history and working discipline;
