1.      JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Advocacy & External Relations Manager,  the Marketing and communications officer plays a critical role in enabling MSI Ethiopia Reproductive Choices’ mission by supporting towards delivering on caring out of marketing plans to boost MSI Ethiopia Reproductive choices brand awareness; broadcasting services and products to all target segments; creates content for social media, aids the creation of promotional events, marketing materials; sustaining relationships with strategic partners that are critical to MSI Ethiopia Reproductive Choices; leverage its key competencies and propositions to develop and strengthen marketing, communications, and External relation goals.

 2.      DUTIES/TASKS

Managing research activities

  • Organize and coordinate internal and external events
  • Produce marketing and communication materials
  • Responsible for all company interactions on the social media, including responding to messages, creating messages, and uploading photos
  • Help in producing contents, messages and reports to various information dissemination channels i.e digital and conventual mediums and audiences to promote an organization’s brand, services and products
  • Draft press releases and news stories on a regular basis
  • Manage and create engaging quarterly staff internal news paper 
  • Undertake media monitoring
  • Produce and publish real & powerful stories for various target audiences i.e donors, partners and clients as required
  • Assist in hiring contractors, including copywriters, advertising and marketing agencies, and external consultants; and also serve as a liaison with contractors when needed
  • Create and maintain a healthy organizational culture through effective communication and help in documenting  best practices of projects
  • Apply various social media tactics in creating brand awareness and generating inbound traffic that strengthens the company’s social media presence
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing partners and clients
  • Coordinate company’s involvement in the activities of community organizations
  • Supervise the design, production, and distribution of collateral and promotional materials to aid the company’s sales and marketing programs
  • Handle various requests from partners timely and responsibly
  • Prepare periodical program reports, and relevant post-event reports and disseminate them to the pertinent stakeholders 

Job Requirements

1.      PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

       A Qualification Requirements

a.      Education:

BSC in health education and promotion; BA in Marketing, Communication, Public relations, business administration or related discipline.

b.      Experience:

4 and above years of relevant experience, and work experience in the health industry is a   plus.

B.     Skill, Attitude, and Attributes:

  • Committed to the protection of team members and clients, with a focus on vulnerable groups.
  • Able to role-model inclusive and culturally sensitive attitudes and behaviors.
  • Proven experience in marketing & communication or similar roles
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/social media etc.)
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and writing skills both in Amharic & English languages
  • Ability to present and write to multiple audiences.
  • Ability to work well with others in team environments.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once
  • Motivated for personal and professional development
  • Pro-choice
