The Project Team Leader is responsible for quality performance and excellence in the delivery of services and reporting of the project. Technically accountable to the Program Coordinator for the day-to-day operation, as well as closely works with all East Coordination office staff.
Management duties:
Provide leadership in the Desert Locust Response and Resilience Building project implementation and be the focal person for ensuring effective delivery of service to the people of concern;
Continuously strive to improve the quality of the project in line with LWF Ethiopia’s empowerment and integrated approaches;
Be in charge of direct and supervise operations of Desert Locust Response and Resilience Building project;
Promote partnership and collaboration with people of concern and primary focus groups throughout the project cycle, as central to overall accountability;
Take lead in project proposal writing and supervising the project staff in proposal preparation;
Prepare project budgets and annual, quarterly and monthly work plans and closely supervise that all project activities are done within their approved budgets;
Ensure that implementation of activities of the project are carried out in accordance to the objectives of the approved project documents;
Monitor the financial planning and expenditure of the project including verification of monthly financial reports together with the field staff;
Undertake regular monitoring visits, ensure capacity building elements are included in each visit;
Responsible for quality and timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual reports;
Maintain liaison with relevant District/Regional government officers including facilitation and acquisition of operational agreements;
Maintain liaison with relevant donors and partner organizations;
Promote cooperation with relevant national Food Security and Livelihoods networks and/or institutions in the region;
Provide support and technical training in sustainable development related issues for the project staff as deemed necessary and make sure that all project staff have the required skills for their positions.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience:
Masters or Bachelor Degree in Food Security, Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science or related field of study from a recognized university with a minimum of 2 year relevant work experience for Masters Degree and 4 years for Bachelor Degree.
Additional requirements:
Proficiency in both written and spoken English;
Experience in food security and livelihood projects;
Good skill in reporting and monitoring;
Computer literate.
