Job Description
Handle all activities of cash and issues proper cash receipts vouchers.
Monthly reconcile the Sales as per ledger with the Z-Report summery, which has been reported to the tax office. Manage all financial documentation and transaction in the import and export operations.
Follows-up customer records and prepares statements of accounts monthly for customers. Handles all correspondence regarding outstanding balances of customers. Contact customers concerning unsettled amounts.
Collect outstanding payments regularly and report weekly; advise Managing Director of any irregularities in payment and take appropriate actions.
Handles petty-cash payments and prepares petty-cash payment reports and request forms.
Receive -original monthly banks statements from all banks
Original banks deduction and credit advice, shipments banks' permits and related advice/letters
Prepares monthly payroll sheets including pay slip and pay advice for staffs and distribute net payroll cash and collects receipts of payment.
Make income tax and sales tax and withholding tax payment to the concerned government bureau.
Prepare cost build-up Summery sheet for all the imported goods and close to the stock account;
Efficiently filing and safely securing the originals of all import original shipments file
Help finance head in preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements of all bank transactions
Prepares weekly and monthly financial reports on sales and expenses.
Maintains fixed asset register; takes inventory of fixed asset items as required and prepares fixed asset schedule.
Ensure that there are printed forms for use. Check whether they are used in chronological order.
Support finance head in making ready the account of the company for external auditors in due time. Help get the accounts audited, pay relevant taxes to the Inland Revenue authority and renew the company's license.
Performs other functions, which may be required to improve the control and the reporting of financial activities
Job Requirements
Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Accounting,
Total experience 5 years of which 3 years should be on Import/Export sector
Knowledge of IFRS and local taxation rules.
Good communication skills in basic level English and Amharic.
Good knowledge of MS office, MS Excel and Peachtree.
