 HIRARICAL RELATIONSHIPS

 Direct supervision: IM officer

 contract Duration :Maximum of 40days

  RESPONSIBILITIES and TASK DESCRIPTION

 Based in Addis Ababa, in close collaboration with the project team supervisors, community mobilizers, PSS officers, and information management officer the data assistant will:

 1.    Ensure the global quality of the data entry and reporting for the whole project

1.1.         Enter the data collected by the field team in the database

1.2.        Ensure quality of the data entered and within the respect of deadlines

1.3.        Ensure consolidation of database and its regular cleaning

1.4.        Verify consistency of data in the database and in other data collection matrixes

 2.  Ensure adaptions of the database to the project’s needs

 2.1.        Report any discrepancies between the database and the data collection tools to rehabilitation team leaders.

2.2.        Propose improvements of the database and data collection tools to ensure their consistency

2.3.        Build / adjust the database to the needs and requirements of the program/mission

2.4.        Build automated reporting tools when required

 3.  Produce data analysis and participate in reports

 3.1.        Provide weekly and monthly internal reports

3.2.        Extract data and participate in production of reports upon Project Manager’s request

3.3.        Provide any data analysis and produce charts upon Project Manager’s request

3.4.        Provide relevant analysis of the collected data and produce information on project’s outputs, outcomes and impact

3.5.        Generate comprehensive data for reporting on key variables (per community, gender, type of vulnerability…)

3.6.        Generate comprehensive quantitative data on activities using the different follow up tools

3.7.        Routine follow up on the data management and analysis, and regular update and reporting on the progress (challenges, achievements, etc) to your line-manager

 4.  Ensure proper archiving of the data collection tools

 4.1.        Arrange all files in proper archiving

 5.  Ensure confidentiality of the data management

 5.1.        Respect the total confidentiality of the data collected and entered

5.2.        Ensure never to speak about data collected within the project

5.3.        Ensure security of the database and files

 6.    To demonstrate an ethic and professional practice

 6.1.        Respect beneficiary confidentiality.

6.2.        Respect and promote HI’s Policies and report to your line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or partners.

6.3.        Address needs and requests in a professional way.

6.4.        Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others.

6.5.        Always interact with children with the presence of their parents or caregivers

6.6.        Always respect a refusal of treatment.

7.    Demonstrate willingness to improve professional competences and abilities to increase care quality

 7.1.        Demonstrate motivation at work

7.2.        Demonstrate willingness to improve own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training sessions, capacity building activities…

7.3.        Participate in the different activities that are common to all team members

7.4.        Respect each team member’s positions, work, and specialty

7.5.        Adapt to special situations or demands from supervisor (reporting, etc)

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

 Education:   Statistics, IT or computer science diploma/degree

 Languages:   Excellent Amharic and good English mandatory.

 Experience:  

·        At least 2 year of professional experience in data management and analysis

·        Experience with INGO, preferably in emergency context is an asset

 Skills:

·        Excellent computer skills compulsory

·        Excellent Excel commands compulsory

·        Knowledge of Microsoft Office

·        Data entry skills

·        Typing skills  

·        Knowledge on Survey CTO, KOBO is a plus

 Other/General:

·       Abilities to work within a team and collaborate

·       Precision, accuracy, patience, rigor

·       Motivated, dynamic; able and willing to take initiatives

·       Time and work management abilities as well as autonomy

·       Willing to learn and develop professionally
