Washington Medical Center (WMC) is a specialized Secondary healthcare facility managed and staffed by Ethiopian, American, and other foreign doctors who are committed to providing expert, high quality, and affordable medical services to all Ethiopians, residents, and visitors of Ethiopia, including International Organizations, Embassies, Business Firms, and Insurance Companies.

WMC has been established under Washington Healthcare PLC, which by itself is a subsidiary of Washington Healthcare LLC incorporated in Washington D.C. (USA). WMC is certified by the New Ethiopian Government Standard Authority Health Facility Minimum Standard Requirement (Ethiopian Standard ES 36192012) for specialty medical centers and is licensed to operate accordingly.

Washington Medical Center (WMC) is looking to hire a sales-driven and customer-oriented Marketing and Sales Officer to bring the most effective solutions to increase the WMC’s market share. The Marketing and Sales Officer's responsibilities include recommending improvements to current marketing and sales strategies, informing potential and existing customers of the WMC’s promotions, as well as preparing accurate sales and marketing reports. You should also be able to continually identify new sales opportunities through customer referrals.

As a Marketing and Sales officer, you should be persuasive and knowledgeable of the business industry. You are also expected to have a strong work ethic and demonstrate exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills at all times.

Duty station: Ethiopia, Addis Ababa

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct market research and analysis to evaluate trends, brand awareness and competition ventures

  • Monitor progress of marketing and sales using various metrics and submit reports of performance

  • Developing and sustaining long-lasting relationships with customers.

  • Calling potential customers to explain the services and products and encourage using the services and products.

  • Answering customers' questions and escalating complex issues to the relevant departments as needed.

  • Developing in-depth knowledge of company products and services.

  • Maintaining an accurate record of all sales, scheduled customer appointments, and customer complaints.

  • Collaborating with the business development department to ensure that the hospital is reaching its target.

  • Preparing cost-benefit analyses for prospective and existing customers to determine the most suitable purchase options.

  • Analyzing competitors' products and services to determine product and service features, benefits, shortfalls, and market success.

  • Research and recommend prospects for new business opportunities

  • Research and analyze sales options

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects

  • Stay current with trends and competitors to identify improvements or recommend new products and services

  • Collect and analyze information and prepare data and sales reports

  • Attend workshops to learn more technical and professional skills for the job

  • Build and maintain professional networks

  • Meet with potential clients to determine their needs

Job Requirements

Required Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, business management, marketing, economics, and in Health Sciences.

  • Minimum of five year proven sales experience.

  • Experience in the health industry is advantageous 

  • Sound knowledge of sales strategies and the business industry.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and consultative sales skills.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Fluent in English
