It’s geared to build a more robust business model in East Africa and beyond that cuts across the traditional modus operandi. To this end, the company would like to appoint a Chief Transformation Officer at Frontieri.

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for generating new ideas, evaluating new technology and implementing it to launch or improve goods and services within our firm's clientele and customers and organization’s overall infrastructure. S/he will also be responsible for developing the company’s digitalization initiatives at corporate and business levels. Will use technology to improve the company's customer experience as well as the company's procedures and operations. The candidate will be need to provide sound technical leadership in all aspects of our business, develop the company’s strategy for using technological resources, ensuring there efficiently, profitably and secure usage, evaluating and implementing new systems and infrastructure.

General Duties and Responsibilities of the CTO:

• Create and Implement technology strategy that align with company’s resources while considering organization’s short- and long-term goals

• Present reports on the company’s technology status, goals and or progress

• Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity

• Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage

• Help departments use technology profitably

•  Track, analyze and monitor technology performance metrics

• Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing and operations

• Supervise system infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency

• Build quality assurance and data protection processes

• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance

• Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology

• Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation and creativity

• Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors

Job Requirements

• MBA in ICT and +10 years of experience in organization digital transformation

• Strong cross-functional background with experience in a variety of transformational situations and challenges in the past,

•  Experience of undertaking similar roles as Chief Technology Officer,

•  Experience in undertaking strategic change processes that were creative and proved successful

• Experience in leading senior teams,

•  Good problem-solving, analytical, time management, flexibility, attention to detail, fast learner, team player, interpersonal and negotiation skill, and

•  Excellent communication and engagement skills. 

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with ability to convey message with executive presence as well as consultatively influence outcomes.

• Awareness of situational leadership and when to use different leadership styles (e.g., coaching and mentoring vs pacesetting and directive) to achieve the desired outcomes.
