Job Description

CEFA is looking for 1 motivated Child Protection Coordinator. The Coordinator will be in charge of the implementation of the activities of the project, in particular of the activities related to protection, with support and psycho-social assistance of families, women and children most at risk of malnutrition.

In details, the Child Protection Coordinator will be requested to:

  • Coordinate and monitor the field activities, ensuring the achievement of the objectives and indicators established according to the full project proposal as well as donor guidelines.

  • Ensure timely planning as per the Organization practices (coordination meeting, workplan, ToR).

  • Provide Child Protection technical advice within the project on aspects of competence.

  • In coordination with the Project Manager, manage relations with local partners, different stakeholders at government level and main institutional actors involved in training activities.

  • Attend coordination meetings representing the Organization when requested. 

  • Ensure timely narrative and financial reporting as per Organization and donor guidelines.

  • Supervise the work of the Child Protection-related staff (including attendance, performances, respect of workplan, leaving period, handover).

  • Plan and follow-up the project expenditures in agreement with the Project Manager and ensure timely provision of financial documents.

  • Plan and follow-up the project procurement plan, in agreement with the Project Manager, and ensure timely purchase of agreed items and services.

  • Supervise the correct management of Project equipment, furniture and logistic items. 

Job Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  •  Degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Education, Community Development.

 REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  •  At least 3 years’ experience in the Child protection sector.

  •  A strong understanding of child protection standards, frameworks, protocols and tools.

  •  Knowledge and daily use of computer and basic programs (Microsoft package, e-mail).

  •  Fluency in spoken and written English, Amharic and Oromiffa languages.

  •  Excellent organizational skills, with ability to determine priorities and pay attention to detail.

  •  Ability to work in a multicultural context as a flexible and respectful team player.
