Job Description
Main Responsibilities and specific tasks include but not limited to the following:
· Ensure smooth implementation of the project activities done in accordance with the terms and conditions specified by the project.
· Provide support to and collaboration with the Program Manager in all aspect of the project implementation and related partnership issues.
· Prepare weekly and monthly action plans to meet the objectives of the project.
· Establish and maintain professional working relationships with TVET, companies, partners, donors, NGOs (both local and international), and relevant government authorities.
· Conduct regular monitoring visits as per VIS standards and donor requirements.
· Prepare monthly and quarterly narrative reports, following the donor guidelines and government requirements for NGO reporting.
· Collect regular detailed progress report with monitoring updates and trends seen in the field from project staff and submit it timely.
· Maintain smooth coordination and team spirit within the project team.
Being available for any other specific requirements asked by VIS PM and VIS Country Director.
Logistics and administrative management for the program
· Manage and monitor project finance and budget; maintain strong control on budget ensuring spending within available resources and in compliance with the donor’s and VIS guidelines.
Prepare the purchase requests and submit them to the administrative department for approval.
· Provide support and advise partner in implementing the project activities and budgets, including procurement.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
Expertise:
· Relevant academic degree or further qualification in Education, Development Cooperation/Development Studies, Sociology.
· 7 years post-qualification work-related experience in NGO as project manager in particular in the fields of: education, TVET, local development, promotion of partnership with private sector.
· Previous experience in projects with strong component on disability, gender and social integration is a strong asset.
· Experience working in projects implemented in jointly with partners /consortium.
· Availability to move from the duty station whenever required during project implementation.
· Strong working knowledge of English and Amharic (spoken and written).
· Good working knowledge of Italian language is an asset.
Skills and ability
· Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills with all types and levels of stakeholders.
· Very good understanding of monitoring, reporting and evaluation processes.
· Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and stressful problems.
Personal requirements:
· Capacity to work under pressure.
· Creative, open-minded, flexible, self-learner, dynamic, servant-hearted and problem solver.
Employment Term:12 months with possible renovation
