Purpose of the job

Ensure the timely and accurate posting of cash payments and collection to the proper accounts, completion of all requisite for cash reporting and reconciliation, maintenance of accurate ledgers and highlighting any issues affecting this to line managers. Participating in Period End closings and Balance sheet Account Reconciliation and Supporting the wider business by the accurate and timely reconciliation of both bank and cash on hand accounts.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with all required stakeholders to ensure that all bank and cash accounts are reconciled

  • according to the agreed timescales and business units by

  • Ensure bank statements have collected on at least monthly basis

  • Reconciling all bank statements

  • Downloading bank statements when needed; and follow up of proper recording of all

  • payments and collection to the proper account

  • Identify and correct posting errors, unrecorded charges and propose adjustment by journal on

  • timely basis

  • Liaise with other Finance teams (e.g. PtP, OtC, Business control, Treasury), other departments

  • and banks to identify un-reconciled entries

  • Clear un-reconciled items on timely basis and report to the line manager on timely basis

  • Obtain the relevant approvals for all payments in line with policy

  • Ensure all rejected payment items are identified and Accounts Payable are notified

  • Ensure all bank statement items are identified and reconciled appropriately and liaise with

  • relevant teams to process and close out items before month end

  • Provide support in the development of and adherence to all necessary financial controls to

  • ensure the production of accurate financial records and information

  • Perform periodic cash count and reconcile with records

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned

Job Requirements

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting and finance. 

Experience  

  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience

  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel
