Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is looking for qualified candidates to fill the following positions.
Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for delivering all project outcomes on time, within budget and with expected standards of the Danish Institute for Human Rights (DIHR) grant titled Empowering Ethiopian Human Rights Commission 2020-2024. The Project and M&E Coordinator will be responsible to coordinate all future DIHR projects/grants and other relevant projects as assigned by EHRC. The Project and M&E Coordinator will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of major donor regulations including DIHR, excellent and proven project management skills including planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation and learning, reporting, financial management and capacity building.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Lead on the successful implementation of all DIHR project deliverables and develop and manage an implementation timetable for the project, working with the relevant functions to ensure delivery of project targets to a high quality and within the contracted timeframe and budget;
Plan project activities, relevant functions to ensure detailed project implementation plans (per sector) are in place, understood by team members across all sectors and effectively implemented as scheduled;
Track progress against project objectives, ensuring full completion as per project work plans;
Ensure effective systems to monitor and evaluate the quality of project delivery are in place;
Develop and oversee implementation of comprehensive and cost-effective project visibility and communication strategies, recognizing donor contributions and motivation in addition to other project stakeholders;
Ensure quality reporting of project achievements and documenting of best practices and lessons learnt in the course of implementation to use them for future/new project design process;
Coordinate the proposal and concept note development process of DIHR and other projects by identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, studying calls for proposals (CFP’s), share information with responsible sectors;
Work closely with Finance and Admin team to ensure adequate support is provided to support the project delivery;
Serve as a budget holder and be responsible management of project budget, including monitoring expenditure against budget lines and ensuring funds are properly utilized in meeting project objectives;
Lead the capacity development EHRC team members on DIHR regulations;
Coordinate preparation of reports to relevant actors including donors;
Represent the Commission in external meetings related with the project based on the supervisor approval;
Carry out other tasks and activities as requested by the supervisor.
LOCATION :Head Office/Addis Ababa
REPORT TO : Director-Strategy, Planning and Results Management
DURATION :One Year Contract with the possibility of extension
SALARY RANGE :Gross monthly salary of ETB 25,756.00 -ETB 30,676.00 plus ETB 8,000.00 Housing allowance and ETB 1,900.00 Transport allowance, depending on candidate’s qualification, experience and earning history
Qualifications and Experience:
MA/BA Degree in Law, International Law, Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, International Development, Social Studies, Project Management, or related fields;
8 years of relevant experience for BA and 6 years of relevant experience for MA with at least 2 years of project management experience;
Previous experience managing and/or implementing DIHR-funded projects;
Proven project management skills, including planning, budget management and reporting;
Computer literate;
Knowledge of Amharic and English is required. Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous.

The consultant will facilitate discussions, group work, and role-play exercises to encourage dialogue, identify friction points, and propose practical solutions. Following the forum, the consultant is expected to prepare a concise report summarizing key outcomes, recommendations, and agreed next steps, as well as a draft SOP/Code of Conduct reflecting the contributions of participants.
