Job Description

Project coordination and management

• Coordinate the implementation of all the activities in health Program in the target intervention areas.

• Ensure effective and efficient utilization of project budget and other resources for intended purpose; follow up on budget utilization and project expenditure as needed.

• Ensure the programme activities are implemented according to project objectives and results within the given time frame and in ways responsive to the communities and children in line with Save the Children principles, values and strategic plan and following Save the Children compliance procedures and provide guidance and technical support to Save the Children staff and government stakeholders.

• Identify critical issues in the implementation of projects and take the necessary actions to address problems and constraints

• Initiating, closely following up and coordinating on the activities implemented by the Satellite office and Country office.

Planning and reporting

• In collaboration with other project staffs and implementing partners, prepare quarterly and annual project budgets in relation health programme implemented in that area.

• Prepare and compile periodic plan, reports and updates on the implementation of the project as per the requirements of SCI and donors

·    Ensures integration of activities of government stakeholders and the project and strengthen collaboration at all level

• In cooperation with other project staffs and implementing partners, ensure proper documentation of experiences and lessons learned during the project implementation

• Facilitate and ensure the involvement of children as primary stakeholders in all the project work

Monitoring and Supervision

·   In collaboration with other project staff and government stakeholders, maintain strong supervision and monitoring system to measure achievement and progress toward the project objectives and expected outcomes and impacts

·   Conduct monitoring and supervision of the status of planned project activities implementation and provides technical support to project staffs and partners to improve the quality of the implementation of activities.  

·   Strengthen participatory and collaborative supervision and monitoring system including active participation of children

 Managing implementing partners and staffs, and Mentorship

·   Provide technical support to implementing partners

·   Strengthen team spirit and team work

·   Facilitate experience sharing among implementing partners and staffs to enhance the quality and delivery of results.

·   Guiding and mentoring staffs and implementing partners on the implementation of project activities

Job Requirements

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• BSC in Nursing or public health or other related fields with 3 years’ experience

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching

• Experience of coordinating and shaping projects to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness, and of strengthening implementation of financial control processes

• Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward

• Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies

• Fluency in written and spoken English; local language skill an advantage

• Commitment to Save the Children values

• Capable of working in tight deadlines and under pressure

• Computer literate

• Willing to frequently travel to remote areas

• Knowledge of the area and region where the post is located
