Job Role

We are looking for a qualified IT Technician that will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. You will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure.

As an Information Technology Specialist, under the direct supervision of Heal Africa health City SC Board delegate, s/he will be expected to coordinate all aspects of technology solutions life cycle including requirement gathering, designing, customizing, testing, deployment, procedure documentation and maintenance. The position is responsible for evaluating hospital solutions and supports the Deputy CEO on selection of high performing, reliable and effective technology solutions meets organizational goals and national standards. The IT specialist is also responsible in ensuring the proper set-up of network system and availability and functionality of IT infrastructure.

The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

Job Objectives and Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)

• Check computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality

• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications

• Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance

• Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs

• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with colleagues, customers and other professionals

• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports on ICT equipment

• Testing and evaluating new technology

• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment

• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

• Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field

• Ideally we would like to see at least 3 year of experience as IT Technician or relevant position .

• Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills

• Excellent communication ability and to work in a team

• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

• In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks

• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

• Ability to think logically, Ability to prioritise your workload, Strong customer focus

• Familiar with Electronic medical record, Hospital management system(HMS)

• Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
