Dümmen Orange is an internationally leading breeding company focused on cut flowers, bulbs, tropical plants, pot plants, bedding plants and perennials firm with a significant presence in Ethiopia for long years.

Olij Breeding plc is part of Dümmen Orange, located in Debre zeit mainly with cut flowers propagation. Following growth and expansion we are currently looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to join our highly motivated team of professionals in the following position:

Detailed responsibility:

• Setting up effective misting programs depending on all the variables (weather conditions, age of plants, varietal differences e.t.c)

• Following up on the status of the top grafts during sticking and report immediately to the manager if there are issues arising.

• Timely opening and closing of screens depending on the weather/age of crops.

• Following up with the growers to ensure that all misters/foggers are working properly.

• Artificial lights management.

• Following up on the dispensing water pressure.

• Opening and closing of misting pumps.

• Refilling of water reservoirs in time.

• Co- ordinate with the relevant department to see to it that maintenance/cleaning programs are carried out timely in nursery chambers.

• Co- ordinate with spray team to align misting programs with spray program.

• Co- ordinate with irrigation team on when to give first irrigation

• Close follow up of plants during shifting to hardening phase

Job Requirements

Knowledge, experience and capability  

• BSc degree in Horticultural/plant science from accredited university

• Experience in young plants climate control (Priva, ISII or any other system) is an added advantage

• Basic knowledge of young plants (nursery) management

• Fluent in English-verbal and written

• Have basic computer knowledge
