Job summary

SYS/Shayashone is currently seeking for highly qualified applicants for the Project Officer position which the job descriptions and competency requirements are listed below.

Project Management

  • Participate in overall project planning and develop work plans with different partners.

  • Assist in smooth implementation of a harmonized project plan, tracking, and reporting of results.

  • Coordinate regular (monthly, quarterly and yearly) project progress follow-up meetings.

  • Develop or adopt various project management tools and frameworks that could enhance reporting and monitoring standards.

  • Undertake other program administration tasks as and when necessary

Event and Workshop coordination

  • Prepare and participate in periodical meetings

  • Organize different project events (internal and external)-arrange conference logistics, prepare and follow-up invitation

  • Responsible for registration and recording during events including audio-visual.

  • Responsible for developing event reports or minutes for circulation or follow-up.

  • Develop an appropriate action log from different meetings and events and ensure proper follow-up.

Communication and Reporting

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Support the Communications officer in the production of communications tools: video clips, and leaflets.

  • Responsible for developing appropriate communication and relationship with relevant stakeholders.

  • Responsible for creating synergy and alignment of this project with other initiatives within the company.

  • Compile relevant data and documents for the project.

  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual project reporting.

  • Coordinate with project teams in the documentation of projects’ achievements

Duty station: Addis Ababa with frequent travel within Ethiopia

Job Requirements

Education, Work experience, and Language

  • Master’s in Project Management, Business and Economics, and related fields

  • At least 2 years of experience in business development, research, market development, and project implementation.

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English. 

Leadership and Management Competencies

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

  • Outstanding diplomatic, influence, and persuasion skills to sell products and services.

  • Mastery in demonstrating personal effectiveness and delivering results through people.

  • Outstanding skills in planning, organizing, and reporting.

  • Strong analytical and critical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

  • Champions in fostering partnership and stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to perform under stress with minimal supervision and able to handle multiple tasks at a time in a calm and organized manner. 

  • Hands-on and proactive approach.

Technical Competencies

  • Proven track record in project planning, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Outstanding in organizing, analysing, and interpreting data and developing strategies and business plans.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint packages.

  • Sound understanding of working practices in PLC 

Preferred Age Range: 25-30 years
