Background

Positive action for Development (PAD) is an indigenous, non-governmental, humanitarian and development organization and legally registered at Federal level by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies agency on June 6/2011 with a registration number 2330. The organization has also been re-registered and accorded legal personality with registry number 2330 on May 22, 2019 as Local Organization in accordance with the civil society Organization proclamation No. 1113/2019. PAD would like to hire qualified professional for the following position. 

Specific responsibilities include the following

• Responsibility and accountability for first line user support and maintenance or troubleshooting, installation and configuration of PCs, Servers, Laptops, UPS, Printers, Scanners, projectors, administration of communication system.

• Administer the organization LAN/WAN in Ms Widows server environment, install, maintain, and upgrade hardware, software, services and other networking components and monitor periodically LAN system, mail servers, application servers, security server, PBX systems and take appropriative corrective measures.

• Install and test software updates and patch programs to support applications and various desktop, laptop and Servers operation systems for Domain controller, MS Exchange server, ISA Servers, etc

• Identify the hardware or software needed to provide solution to problems, assisting in customization & adaptation of existing systems or perform requirement analysis for new automation needs and participate in the systems development process using the latest programming languages and database engines

• Work on the preparation of technical specification for ICT equipment and check delivery of ICT equipment as per the specification.

• Perform data maintenance and integrity activities and ensuring system security

• Identify and perform critical data backup regularly (includes users’ data, databases of various applications, system state data of all servers, database of PBX System, etc)

• Facilitate and Provide ICT technical service, advice and support to all users of the organization

• Monitor availability, capacity and performance of the ICT infrastructure and applications

• Administer email, website and social media pages

• Firewall administration and overall responsibility for the organization IT security

• Prepares training proposals relevant to PAD user’s interest and provide training and support on technical aspects of corporate applications and information security responsibilities

• Provide on the job training to support the use of modern ICT in the organization

• Technically assists departments/work units to develop, design and deliver their own program/project related training programs essential for the organization

• Conduct other IT related assignments as required.

Job Requirements

Qualification

• First degree on Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or equivalent

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in ICT

Skills Required, Attitudes and Attributes

• Must possess thorough knowledge microcomputer hardware and software and LAN operating system, LAN based application software, security, communication and diagnosis tools

• Must possess thorough knowledge of IT systems, computer equipment operations management, hardware and software technology and must possess excellent interpersonal skills to maintain open communication

• Strong client focus and genuine desire to assist, analytical skills, persistence, good communication skills, able to work as part of team, patient and tolerant, technical aptitude, methodical and disciplined approach to problem solving system

• Good Communications and writing skill English
